We have Paper Nest Dolls stamps!

Valerie here today, and I was in the store today and so excited to see the new display of Paper Nest Dolls stamps!

I'm also on the design team for Paper Nest Dolls, so I work with them ALL the time; so I was ecstatic to hear Hannah's was going to start selling them, also!

Paper Nest Dolls are hand drawn by my good friend, Christine; there are a couple different sites for her store & stamps:

  • Here is the overall web site (but DON'T use the link that says "Blog" from that page; it's an old one - they really need to fix that!)
  • HERE is the Blog that us designers all make and share our creations on to give you guys some inspiration!
  • Here is the Challenge blog where you can enter YOUR creations to try and win a free Paper Nest Dolls digi!
  • Of course they're on Facebook ;)
  • And here is the page to see and order the stamps
Here are some of my recent creations, all using Paper Nest Dolls stamps:

This is Angel Ellie

Here is Artist Avery

And I really have a special place in my heart for this guy, Old Time Owen (I've used him multiple times!)

I have SO many more projects if you're interested in seeing them, on my blog.
And you can also see all the other designers' projects on the store's blog; my fellow designers are just PHENOMENAL!

Thanks for stopping by today, and go in and check out all the great stamps Hannah's now has!

Ta-ta, and Happy Holidays!

Operation Write Home & Sunshine Mail Card Making Event

Happy Thanksgiving Week, fellow Crafters!

Hannah's is thrilled to be helping to host a very special card making event on December 14th!

I, along with some good friends, have collected crafting supplies from various donors (Hannah's being one of them!) and we are joining together to create cards for 2 very special causes:

We are hoping to have crafters come in to the store and help us make cards to send to our nation's Heroes (through Operation Write Home), and Children who really need a smile (through Sunshine Mail).

We will have a craft table set up, and the following items will be provided if you do not have them with you:

  1. Cardstock
  2. A couple Trimmers
  3. Embellishments
  4. Envelopes
~ Please bring your own adhesive
~ We would also appreciate any financial donation (even just spare change!) for mailing of all the cards

The guidelines for both organizations' cards are very strict, and we will provide the information for you. If you are curious, however, you can find Guidelines for Operation Write Home here, and for Sunshine Mail here.

We will also have examples of cards! So if you're concerned that your "mojo" might not be flowing that day, don't worry - there will be card examples and sketches to look at :)
Please take a few minutes out of your day, and start the Holiday Giving process by just making something that will mean the world to someone who really needs a smile.

You can find specific information on their organizations' web sites shown above, or you can look on my blog,, where I have a quick synopsis for each organization:

Sunshine Mail on

Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving with your loved ones, and I hope we'll see you on Saturday, December 14th at Hannah's!

Project Life is HERE!

Hi everyone, Valerie here, and I absolutely couldn't wait to let you know what new product we just got in!

I walked into the store the other day to drop off my latest project (May page kit for G45), and when I turned around, (ask Cherie), I screamed! On the table was the latest shipment - a pile of GOLD... Becky Higgins' Project Life!

Not only do I do both traditional scrapbooking (obviously) and digital scrapbooking, but I also use Project Life. Each of my 4 kids has their own albums, plus I have one for myself; you can only imagine how hard that is to maintain and keep up with all the photos I take.

Project Life was only available through Amazon for years. But this amazing system has recently made it to the next realm, which is in retail stores near you. It was SO hard to get a hold of, because it was SO popular it would ALWAYS sell out the second there was some available on Amazon; it was very frustrating. NOW, it's everywhere, including Hannah's! Woo hoo! SCORE!!

If you have NO idea what Project Life (PL) is, go to Becky and she has the perfect video for you that explains it all perfectly.
Go here for an awesome video rendition of what PL is

Here's another video; here, Becky's at CHA:

And a 3rd one, too!

Also, here's a neat rendition showing the system and how it works:

Come on in to the store, and we'll help you get started with this awesome new system.

I also have a few posts on my blog showing a system I received in the mail, my 2013 Picture-A-Day PL album, and many others.

Ta ta, and have a GREAT day!

Just in Time for the Wedding Season - a Graphic 45 Wedding Album!

What could be a more perfect combo than Graphic 45 + Wedding? Well, June is right around the corner, and we all know what that means - weddings! So, just in time for the season of romance, we have a special treat for you at Hannah's - a wedding album created with Graphic 45's gorgeous, romantic collection, A Ladies' Diary.

I created this album using an 8"x 8" craft album; it is very interactive, so to see a slideshow you can hop over to my blog to see all the pages!

By "interactive", it means that there are flaps to open, tags to pull out, sides to unfold, etc; there are little hidden goodies in every corner ;) Here's an example of one of the pages:

In addition to this 8" x 8" album, there is also a little 3" x 3" mini that accompanies this main album. It's so cute, and I made it to display all the activities before the wedding, especially the beautiful bride getting ready (again, you can watch a slideshow on my blog, ValByDesign, that shows all the pages):
Here are just 2 of the pages:

The kits are being assembled, and should be ready very soon. I would call the store to reserve your copy, as we have a feeling it will go fast.

I would also like to point out, that there are so many other gorgeous new mini album kits and page kits that aren't even featured on this blog. You HAVE to come into the store to see them all, which I highly recommend; all the designers amaze me - there are too many kits to list, but just some of them are:
  • pet albums
  • travel albums
  • friendship albums
  • couples albums
  • birthday albums
  • and on & on!...

Authentique's Seasons collection: Spring

OK, who is getting a tad anxious here for Spring to finally arrive? Last year at this time it was in the 80's! LOL, that was weird, tho, wasn't it?

In keeping with my thoughts for Spring, I had a 2-page layout to do using Authentique's Seasons collection for Spring. I immediately knew what pictures I wanted to use: go WAY back, 13 years, to April 2000. I had only 2 kids then, and they were 3.5 years, and 7 months (those 2 are now 13 & 15!). This was the first day of that spring season where it was warm enough, and the grass was dry enough, to take the baby outside and sit him in the grass for the very first time.

Here is my baby touching grass for the very first time (and the toddler telling him all about grass):

You can see my post on ValByDesign here.

Have a wonderful weekend (and let's hope it doesn't snow too bad!)!

The Bus Tour was a Huge Success!

Wow, what a great day this was! We took our bus tour, where we headed to 3 stores - Lorraine's Memories in Woodstock, Craft Fancy in Arlington Heights, and our home base, Hannah's. It was an all day trip, where we made make 'n takes at the 3 stores, had wonderful food provided by each of the stores, and even had a good time on the bus in between the stops. We really enjoyed seeing other store's projects, meeting new people, and learning new techniques and project types.
Here we are loading the bus at Hannah's
Fred the driver was both friendly and hilarious
Here we go!
Prizes are being won!

Ooh, awesome pudding shots... may I have another?
Here we are at The Square in Woodstock
The first project for our day was Lorraine's adorable mini album. The back and front covers were made with cardboard; the technique was as simple as pulling off the top layer of the cardboard, and inking them with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Stain
A very nice crafting space in the back of the store
 Isn't it adorable?
 Our finished projects

Laura's (one of our amazing designers!) mom enjoyed the trip with us today
 Their lunch was really amazing
At Craft Fancy in Arlington Heights
Look at all of the goodies!
Creating out make 'n takes in the empty space next door
Shopping 'til our hearts' contents
So many die cuts (and this isn't it - turn around and there's more!)
Now THIS is a roll of dimensional adhesive!
Their classroom space
Hopping back on the bus to head back up north to our home store, Hannah's
Here we are, creating our next project that Hannah's provided
I LOVE the size of our store
This is the cutest project; I can't wait to hang it up!
Happy Scrappers

 Materials for the project
 I think they're enjoying it!
This store has such amazing projects; we have so much more than just cards and pages

Here are all of our amazing page kits
The mini albums are true works of art
 More great page kits
 More beautiful mini albums
This is just one display of the gorgeous stamps we have here; there are SO many more
 Punches galore!

It really was a fantastic day; we enjoyed every minute. Special thanks goes to all 3 participating stores; I can only imagine how long it takes to get ready for this event.
We'll have another Bus Tour soon, so if you missed this one, I hope you can make the next one!
